About Me

Welcome to teachnology!!! My name is Morgan and I teach 3rd grade in the great state of Texas! I have a passion for teaching and am always searching for innovative ways to keep my kiddos engaged and having fun! Let me start by saying, I LOVE LOVE LOVE technology and finding creative ways to use it in my class, but I am not a "techie." I am a "teachie." The teaching comes first! For apps, ipads, websites, etc. to be used correctly and efficiently, it has to be purposeful. You've got to have a plan about how it will be used and why. This is why I began this blog. My journey into "teachiehood" began when our school got ipads. I thought it was the greatest thing ever, but found it difficult to use them as a teaching tool that was part of instruction, and not just a reward! I researched a lot, and found very little about how to actually use the ipad on a daily basis, just mostly info about cool apps, and all the amazing things it could do, but few lessons that were purpose driven and efficient. I started to make up my own ideas and collaborate with teachers from all over about actual teaching/collaborating that technology could provide. I think I've come up with some pretty good ideas! The plan is for the blog to be easy to read and have real ideas that real teachers can use in their rooms incorporating digital projects/technology. Hopefully my blog will be different from others because it not only will tell you about cool technology, but give you an actual idea you can take back to your classroom that's easy to start. I know that in a teacher's world, the only way something will be used is if it's free, easy to do, and fast! Hopefully, that's what my blog will offer! Happy reading and teach on!
